Why is it so valuable to have an American "Gril" tag? Doesn't this mean they are un-authentic?

    Confused...

I wouldnt say its more " valuable"... but when Lindsey first came out her tags said that before they changed it... many ppl want one that says "gril" . I personally had a Lindsey that said "gril" and I sold her, and kept my mint nrfb Lindsey instead and I believe her tag is normal and says " girl"

OMG!!! I had never heard that before, and I had never really looked at my Lindsey's tag. I just did, and sure enough, I have a "Gril" doll! How funny!!!

do American Gril Lindseys go for more $$ on ebay?

I can see why they would be more desireable by collectors. often items that are authentic but slightly flawed like that will fetch higher prices on the collector's market (can you tell I've watched Antiques Roadshow one too many times? hehe)

Yes DaisyDee, there are AG counterfeit dolls! I am the one who discovered them. As I am one of the first to purchase a fake AG doll from ebay. long story on that too. Here is the album. My two fakes are Fake Lindsey renamed Nora and Fake Kit renamed Katie.

In the album there is also a fake Felicity, that belongs to LindaL on the board.
